This chest has the finest metalwork of any chest we have ever had. Kaesong bandaji are rare and desirable for collectors, because they are not as commonly seen as Pyongyang bandaji, and are renowned for their fine, detailed metalwork. A very nice pair of large okimonos in the shape of “Koi” carps made of bronze in different colors, one brownish , the other, signed, in silvery color bronze. Signed Yamakawa Koshi. They came with a beautiful, signed, base paulownia wood. Sizes: L. 30 cm each ( 11,8 inches ); base: L. 60 cm x 29 cm. Taisho period, 1915-20. Condition: very good patina and condition.

This is a fabulous iron moon flask with precious metals of gold and silver worked in the nunome zogan technique (damascene) upon its surfaces.
On one side, two large rondels depict in extraordinary detail a
writhing dragon flying mid clouds, the borders designed with turbulent
